Belenda J. Halsey-Bell - 06-17-2008
I don't have many memories of BHS since I was only there for my senior year.  However, I had previously lived in Bluefield while in the 1st through 3rd grades.  I remember Judy Parrish walking up to me and calling me by name that first day of school, come to find out we had been in grade school together.  (Thanks Judy for remembering, that meant a lot.)

I attended West Virginia Wesleyan College after high school where I earned a BS degree.  I went on to earn a MS at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  After working briefly as an adjunct professor at Bluefield State College, I moved to Charleston where I worked briefly as a Decorator, and then the West Virginia Department of Agriculture where I served at the State Home Economist and traveled and spoke extensively throughout West Virginia.  I took a number of years off while my son was young and seven years ago went back to work for the Kanawah County Board of Education.   I have been in the classroom all of those years.  What an honor and privledge it is to help direct and mold the young people of tomorrow.

My husband and I have one son (Andrew who is now 23), he lives and workes in Columbus, Ohio.

I am not a fan of reunions but feel free to e-mail, but please be sure and subject your e-mail 'high school classmate 71'.

Any plans for 2008. Hope to make a tip from CA on my trike this year back home.

Frank Carter - 02-02-2008
Sorry Iris & I missed the reunion in '07.  If anyone gets to Columbia, SC or Folly Beach, SC it would be great to visit.  Yes, now I've got two homes.  Columbia where I have to work and Folly Beach where I long to just hang out and enjoy 'The Edge of America.'  Both children are in college and the oldest will get married in June at Seabrook.  Hopefully this doesn't result in another missed reunion.  Hope all the best this year!

Update from July posting.  We now reside in Salem, VA.  My job is still the same except I telecommute now instead of sitting in traffic every day.  We are loving life in southwest Virginia.   Anyone else down this way?  Will see you next year at the reunion.

Sorry I missed the reunion.  Hello to all my classmates and I hope to be able to attend the 2006 reunion.  Anna-Marie, my wife of 15 years, and I have 3 children,  Sean Michael (12), Alexandra Marie (8) and Shannon Nicolas(6).  We have lived in Princeton for the past 11 years, and  hope to be here for many more to come.  I think the webpage is a wonderful idea and was very happy to see the many different categories such as trivia, photo gallery, the message board and others.  Hope to see everyone in 2006.

Still alive and kicking, barely...lol...I'm married to Wendy with 2 children...Lacy, 21 and Caitie,7...Ciao for now!!

Really enjoyed the 2005 reunion!  I had not been since our 10th!  Alan, Duane & Margaret did a great job!  I really appreciate all your efforts.  It was great to see everyone that was able to attend and I am enjoying all the photos so far!  I haven't had mine developed yet--I have one of those cameras 'that xrays your teeth'  or so Terry Rose said!  As one of my favorite singers says,(Keith Urban)
'Days Go By, So You Better Start Livin, Right Now'  'Take Them By The Hand and Don't Let Them All Fly By!'  Hope to see everyone next year!
Thanks Again to the Reunion Committee!
